DISCLAIMER

This is a work of fiction. All characters, names, events, places, and incidents are either the product of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. I have deliberately chosen random and invented names rather than referencing any specific real individuals. Any resemblance to actual persons (living or dead), events, or real locations is entirely coincidental.

This book contains vivid pictorial descriptions of violence, including scenes of living dismemberment and other intense, exaggerated depictions. While not realistic or gory, these elements may still be unsettling for some readers. Reader discretion is advised.

I looked around. The room was dark. It looked like an operation theatre. My hands were tied to the operation table. There was only light coming from the door. I asked myself, “ What is behind the door? What is the light coming from behind?”. As my body slowly turned numb, the door, which was locked, opened. Well, I think you can’t understand the whole plot. Why I am tied in a room, that too an operation theatre. So, I am going to brief you what happened, because I hope that you don’t think I am just an ordinary man, who had done something wrong and got nullified, but a hero, who just wanted to help a friend and got into a worldly matter. I know that it is subjective. Just choose after seeing my whole life, or a fraction of it. Am I a hero or a

⁴villain?

Chapter 1 The Beginning, the Sea

I was born in a fishing village. My house was so near to the sea, that I could experience the land and sea breeze more intensely. I just had to take one step forward from my house door, and I could feel the moist sand, where a wave was clawing forth to hold on anything on the beach, but being pulled back by the mighty sea. Well, I mean this metaphorically, just to show how near the sea was. Don’t worry, my parents weren’t insane, they built a house right here because of me. Being so near to it, I started to befriend it from a young age, and slowly harnessed it as I was a teen. I would always spend my time swimming into the vast sea, diving and collecting forgotten treasures (just old items). I would always go in my boat, which my father helped me build.  Ah, now I see why I felt a bit like missing something. My father is a highly appraised fisherman, not wanting any worldly treasures and living a humble life. He is a master handyworker, because of which he does a side job of helping others do physical jobs. He is also the most educated person in our village, having M.Sc. in physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology. Sounds unrealistic, but he somehow achieved it by sacrificing his whole teenage period. Mastering everything he touches, he is called by the villagers as the master. Then there is my mother. In fact, she is just like my father, only she has her expertise in medicine instead of handiwork, because of which she is called the physician. Everyday, we would have a minimum of four guests, taking advice and telling their needs. Even the local politicians come to them, asking about what to do next. They were also forced by the whole village to candidate for the local election, because they feel that my parents will be great leaders. So, my parents took part and won every vote. No coalition, nothing: an absolute victory. Then, a new character arrives in the story: me. I also started to be like my parents, having aces everywhere, and achieved the same qualifications. But, aside from that, I also started to interact with the sea. I wasn’t even a prominent figure, but only was seen in my parents light. The villagers believed that I would continue my parents’ legacy. To contradict, I had other plans. I wanted to get out of this village and explore the world, but there is still time for it. I loved the sea. I wanted to be part of it, because of which I swam and sailed a lot in it. At the age of 20, I conquered it. There was no one to compete with my knowledge about it. In fact, all fishermen came to me for help, if they didn’t know something. Through the whole conquest of the sea, I got a prowess unmatched to anyone in the village. The village strongman even surrendered from a duel seeing what I am. He even feared gentle armwrestling for fun. Life was going normally, until the day came, where the fate of the whole village changed drastically.
